International Satellite & Antenna Now offering Streaming Service of Orlando Local Channels for FREE in Marion and some surrounding countys.

 – May 12, 2021 – International Satellite & Antenna Service is now installing free, local broadcast TV digital translator streaming service for customers in Marion County. “We are now offering  50+ local TV channels via the internet – for free – to the approximately 4 million residents living in the Marion County, which includes the cities of Ocala, Belleview, Summerfield, Wiersdale, Ft McCoy, Anthony, Macintosh, Orange Lake, Fairfield, Dunnellon, Morriston and Part of the Villages. For the first time, residents in Marion and some surrounding counties will be able to watch all their local TV stations via the Internet on their Televisions, phones, tablets, laptops.

 

Many “cord cutters,” who cancel their increasingly expensive pay-TV subscriptions from cable and satellite, and “cord-nevers,” who have never subscribed to pay-TV services, represent a significant proportion of International’s customers. For those who cannot afford pay TV or cannot receive an over-the-air signal, International Satellite is providing their service to setup the necessary equipment needed to get the FREE local channels, as well as additional pay services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and SlingTV.

The FREE service delivers over 50 local TV channels in the Orlando designated market area (DMA), including WESH TV2 NBC, WKMG TV 6 CBS, WFTV TV9 ABC, WOFL TV 35 FOX, PBS and PBS Kids, as well as DABL, Univision, Azteca America, Court TV, MeTV, True Crime, Univision, Telemundo, Circle, The CW, BOUNCE, Movies!, LAFF, COMET, ION, GRIT, Charge!, and more.

This new service operates under the Copyright Act of 1976 that allows nonprofit translator services to rebroadcast local stations without receiving a copyright license from the broadcaster. The federal statute (17 U.S.C. 111(a)(5)) states that a nonprofit organization may retransmit a local broadcast signal and collect a fee to cover the cost of operations. The service provider asks viewers to donate as little as $5 per month to help cover operating costs. The donation is voluntary and not required.
